Are you there GOD? It’s me, candy~
I can feel the heartbeat of a mother I’ve never met.
She is frantic
Scared
Every nerve in her is electrified
Panic
Dread
Is there doubt that she looked away for a moment?
That exact moment when she hears the sound
that “no” mother wants to hear.
The fall of her child.
The thump of his head.
The shrill in the cry that “you” know instinctively as a mother.
The adrenaline running through her, snatching up her precious child to check for “anything”.
Anything
The small prayer for nothing to be wrong.
The mumble under your breath” Please GOD don’t let anything be wrong.”
And when it does and our day changes~

Care Flight
I am only a standby today,
into a world that I never wish to be.
The sound of the sirens blended in with the sharp blades making everyone look to the sky.
The day changes in a blink of an eye.
I see it all though the eyes of an outsider, with the camera in my hand I am able to separate myself from the chaos.

Firemen are true Heroes~
tears
relief
A parents nightmare
and I stand with the camera in my hand
mumbling prayers under my breath for their child
a child who’s name I do not even know
GOD I know that we forget so many times to lean on you….
but I know “YOU” were there
I could see it through the firemen eyes as the cared for this precious child.
The thumbs up sign from the Care flight crew!
The precious package being put in such a amazing machine.
Thank You GOD for their bravery and expertise as the outsiders mumble prayers for you to hear~

Good days Work~
Pray and ask God what you can do for Him and what change you can make in your life to serve Him.
This is a day of finding that little something extra we can do;
this is a day of change.

Mike (Rhys' daddy)
Thank you for your prayers Casey! I am Mike Rhys’ daddy and i just wanted to let everyone know the outcome with our little boy. He was climbing the tree in our backyard that I always tell him “Get down Rhys. One day you are going to fall and it hurts really bad!” which he usually brushes aside thinking like all kids “Oh quiet dad you don’t know what you are talking about.” He is four by thy way and is apparently smarter than every genius on the face of this Earth lol. This sunday he found out why I kept telling him that. This sunday he knew the pain I told him would be there. He climbed higher than he normally does and fell approxiamately ten feet by the time he was completely on the ground. He walked in the back door of our home and wasn’t crying so I knew it was going to be bad. When he fell he somehow knocked one of his front teeth out and he came in and i saw blood on his leg and was asking him how he cut his leg and then i saw his mouth and almost lost it. I set him down in my lap and he said he wanted to take a nap. He never wants to take a nap. The only thing that came to my mind is head trauma and concussion. “No Rhys you have to stay awake and talk to me!!!” We were babysitting a friend of my wife’s little girls while she moved. Stephanie (Rhys’ momma) was in the kitchen making fish sticks for all of the kids. When she came in the living room she lost it and called her mom to come and watch our other son and the girls and called 911. A few minutes later there is a knock at our door and it was our local police department and following that knock was another that was the fire department from the next city over (two blocks lol) and they came in and went straight to Rhys to start checking him out. He was so scared because he had no idea what was going on. They brought in the backboard for kids and strapped him in and took him out to the ambulance. In the ambulance we stayed outside and they started working on him but he wouldn’t answer their questions or squeeze their hands or wiggle his toes. They decided to call in an air ambulance. I go in to talk to Rhys to make sure he isn’t absolutely terrified. He is. I talk to the EMT’s and to rhys to get him to calm down some and to find out what is going on. They tell me they call for Careflight. They tell me it is because he possibly has trauma, he will not answer questions, and the freeways between our house and the hospitals usually have traffic that is as unpredictable as our Texas weather. I am talking to Rhys when the door of the ambulance opens and it is a flight nurse and her first question to me is “How much do you weigh?” I am thinking to myself why? She closes the door. When it reopens she tells me I am going too. I tell my wife that I am going on the helicopter with him and give her my keys. Before i know it we are taking off and five minutes later we are landing. My mother in law must have really been moving on the freeway because my wife walked in no later than five minutes after we arrived. After several x-rays including chest, his arm, and a ct scan of his head he has a “Buckle” break on his left arm and he is going to have to get his front tooth replaced. Thursday he gets his cast put on and in another week he gets his tooth replaced. Saturday we are planning on taking him up to see the firemen that came to his rescue and to thank them each personally for their service to our community. We also want to thank Candance our neighbor who posted this wonderful blog and pictures and who’s husband is stationed at the same fire station where my sons heroes come from. Also the flight nurses and pilot of the helicopter that took us in and gave Rhys a pin that looks exactly like the helicopter we rode in. And to everyone else who has prayed for him and us thank you to everyone! Hopefully he will be back to his normal 4 year old self soon with his waterproof cast so he can still swim at Memaw’s house the rest of the summer!
